My joy after reading Warren's bit was gone after seeing #54...

Warren's write up is wonderful, but i stopped putting stock in anything RS has to say long ago when they included Kurt Cobain higher than Jerry on their 'top 100 greatest guitarists' list. seriously????? i play better guitar than he did...

I'm sure we all find plenty to disagree with when these lists come out, but what concerns me most is that when I try to compile a list of my own favourite guitarists they're nearly all dead.

Warren didn't get into the GD until '89? Sheesh, what an In The Darker.

Thanks, that's a good read. Warren Haynes seems like a nice guy.

This reply is not intenteded for anyone inparticular. It
seems to me that 55-57 clearly right in the middle of the hundred is probably the place were they belong. Like I've said before they are not a radio friendly band which does hurt them in the popularity factor. Also again as I have said before there's very little wiggle room w/ them , you either like them or you don't. They're not the Eagles, so a middle rating I have no trouble with.....LW

The Allman Brothers are apparently greater artists than the GD.....

Certainly more mainstream.
so understandable how a rag like RS would rank them higher.
